The co-operation between educational institutions and companies is active in the Helsinki Ring of Industry region. When there is a need to train workforce or recruit new employees, educational institutions and municipalities are happy to help. An excellent example is the recently launched Logis project that connects and trains job seekers to fill vacancies in the bustling logistic sector.

Helsinki West, in Nummela, Vihti, is one of the fastest growing and developing airfields in Finland offering a flexible and ambitious environment for companies, investors and aviation hobbyists. The airfield is located only 40km west from the main airport of Helsinki-Vantaa. In addition, the municipality of Vihti is a member of the FUAVE, which is developing unmanned aviation.

The Mitsubishi Group is the crown jewel of Japanese business, and Järvenpää-based Mitsubishi Logisnext Europe Oy has been part of the story for twenty-five years. The operation of the Järvenpää unit has three diamonds, as in the company logo. What are they, and how can logistics automation technology be presented to customers?

Kesko will invest over €300 million in building an 82,000 square metre logistics centre for Onninen and K-Auto in Hyvinkää, Finland. Construction of the logistics centre began in October 2022 and will be completed in stages between 2025 and 2030. Kesko has the leading position in Northern Europe’s building and technical trade division. The business serves professional builders, technical wholesale customers, and consumers.
